KC & The Sunshine Band and the Village People will lead the celebrations at the University’s 10th annual Chrysalis Ball set for Friday, April 25. The two bands will personify the 1970s theme of this year’s dance. Chrysalis, the end of the year semi-formal dance, is a unique event that presents students with the opportunity to mingle and celebrate the past year with their professors, administrators and other staff members. The dance is sponsored by Activities and Campus Events (ACE), the Traditions Committee, the President’s Office and Bucknell Student Government (BSG). “How often do you get the chance to hang out with staff, faculty, trustees and alumni at the same time?” Sara Goodwin, assistant director of campus activities & programs, said. “You can grab a drink with President Mitchell or see Reverend Ian Oliver out there dancing.” One of the most anticipated aspects of the evening is the entertainment. Because this year marks the 10th anniversary of Chrysalis, the members of the Traditions Committee felt it was necessary to do something special. (read full article)
