Why Bucknell?"When I was going though the process of looking for colleges, I actually looked at 20 schools all over the nation, ranging in size and areas of study. When I walked on Bucknell's campus, I felt like I fit in. All the people and professors and students that I met were so welcoming. "I knew actually what I wanted in a college. I wanted to go back East because I wanted a different experience. I wanted all four seasons. I knew I wanted a small school with no more than 5,000 students and primarily undergraduate because I wanted one-on-one interaction with my professors, and I knew I would get that at a small liberal arts institution like Bucknell." My major"I'm pre-med and I eventually want to go to medical school. I knew I was very interested in the sciences because it has always been my passion, but I really wanted to get involved in other areas of study as well. I was also interested in psychology. And the neuroscience major, it's actually biology and chemistry and psychology all mixed together. I couldn't have asked for a better major because the sciences and psychology are exactly what I wanted. "What I like about Bucknell is that it's not a suitcase campus. Everyone stays on campus most of the year. I'm from California so it's hard to go home a lot of the time. But even my friends who are from an hour away, they rarely go home. Everyone loves to be at Bucknell. It's their second home." My activities"I've been a tour guide for the past year and it is a great opportunity because it allows me to share my love for Bucknell with others. I love Bucknell and everything about it and I want others to see how great Bucknell is and all the opportunities that the University has to offer, not only in academics but outside activities as well. "I'm an RA (resident assistant) for a freshman community in Swartz Hall. I love being a resource for these freshmen. I like putting on programs that allow them to get to know Bucknell better and get involved with the community of BucknellUniversity and Lewisburg. We go to all different sport activities together. We've come together as a community and that's really important. "I'm in training to be an EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) because I want to a doctor in the future. I really like helping others and if anything happens I want to be able to take action immediately, and being involved with SERV (Student Emergency Response Volunteers) is a great opportunity to pursue that."
