BS in Computer Science
BA in Economics
Why did you choose to major in CS?
From an early age, I have been inclined towards technology and its various uses in our daily lives. Thus, after high school I wanted to pursue this interest to achieve a level of competency with one form of technology, i.e. computers. Also, my high school did not offer course in computer science so I part of the reason I enrolled in Computer Science courses was to simply explore it as a subject. Having enjoyed the first couple of courses, I decided to remain as a Computer Science major.
Why did you choose to pursue a BS in Computer Science at Bucknell?
I was not completely certain whether or not I would pursue a Computer Science major at the time I was applying to universities. Indeed, I had initially considered pursuing only Economics rather than the dual major that I am pursuing currently. Thus, I chose to come to Bucknell due to its liberal arts tradition, which I felt would allow me to explore multiple opportunities at university while still graduating from a university widely recognized for providing students with technical competency.
What do you most like about Bucknell?
One of the best characteristics about Bucknell University is the atmosphere between professors and students. At some larger universities interacting with professors can be difficult due to the large number of students that professors are generally required to deal with. At Bucknell, professors are easy to approach and are generally willing set aside time for the purpose of speaking to students. Interactions are not limited to simply discussing class material but almost any topic of interest.
