BS in Computer Science
Minor in Mathematics

Why did you choose to pursue a BS in Computer Science?

When I came to Bucknell, I wasn't sure what I wanted to do, but computer science was a good fit for me.  It constantly challenges me with interesting problems that apply to real life situations. I chose the Bachelor of Science program because it offered me the balance I wanted between a strong focus in Computer Science and the freedom to pursue my other interests in Mathematics and dance conditioning.

Projects

It seems that here at Bucknell, everybody loves music.  One of my class projects involved developing a web site that allows you to stream music from a computer in your dorm room to any computer on campus. Way cool!  Now when I go the library, it's no problem if I forget my to bring along my mp3 player.

Personal interests

My interests in Computer Science lie in graphics and physical simulation (you know, as in video games). I also play guitar and drums, do yoga, and brew beer.

Advice to incoming students

My advice for incoming students is to explore the wide variety of courses and activities this liberal arts school has to offer. I am a more well-rounded person than when I first came to Bucknell, and I attribute it to the many experiences I have had here.
