Announcing the Integrated Library Catalog

Dear Bucknell community:

Greetings from the Bertrand Library!

In support of our ongoing goal to make library resources more accessible and straightforward for library users, the library will be launching a new integrated catalog and Research by Subject in late May.

This product will combine the functionality of the catalog and database searching with subject specific resources. As you can see in the sample screenshot below, the new interface allows you to search multiple resources at the same time (in this case the library catalog and three databases), with all the results displayed on the same screen. By having all of your results in one place, you will be better able to get an idea of what information can be found within a particular resource as a jumping off point for further research.

Along with the search interface, you will find relevant links to reference sources, websites, and other databases with the integration of the Research by Subject guides. In addition, links for getting help from a librarian, as well as help with citations and other research tasks will be included. You will also find spotlights for events or resources associated with the various academic disciplines.
