What have you been doing  since you left Bucknell?

I am currently working as a consultant for Burwood Group, Inc. in Chicago, Illinois. During my time with Burwood, I have worked on a wide variety of network-related projects, dealing with fields including network infrastructure, network security, and wireless networking. I have had a unique opportunity to gain a broad view of the IT world, from the detailed technical-oriented side to the business-oriented side at the other end of the spectrum.

Why did you choose your CS degree program at Bucknell?

I had always been interested in computers, mathematics, and the way things work. I knew that I wanted to be in an engineering program, but during my first few months at Bucknell, I wasn't sure which area to major in. I ultimately chose computer science because I loved the problem solving aspects and the real-world implications that it offered.

Why did you choose to join Bucknell?

I chose Bucknell because it had everything that I was looking for.  Bucknell has a highly-ranked Engineering program, great professors, and an exciting campus and social life.  I loved the fact that Bucknell was a liberal arts  university, which ensured that I had a wide variety of real-world knowledge and communications skills in addition to the technical side of the engineering classes I took.  These skills are something that set Bucknell engineering graduates apart from graduates of strictly technical programs at other schools.

What are your interests in CS?

I have become interested in design, implementation, and security of wireless networks. I had not spent much classroom or research time on these topics while at Bucknell, but have been focusing on these topics during my time since graduation. Wireless technology is becoming increasingly popular, both in personal and business environments, and presents new challenges that I enjoy working with.
