Quang Hao Chau
BS in Computer Science and Engineering
What have you been doing since you graduated?
I work for BAE Systems Land and Armaments division focusing on U.S. Army’s Future Combat System program.
What was particularly good for you in studying CS at Bucknell?
There are many good things, some of which I took for granted. I really enjoyed the small class sizes for instance - you could get as much help as you need from your professors. Another strong point are the computing resources and tech support. There's always a computer free for anyone to use on campus, 24 hours a day, and printing costs you nothing. The tech support team helps you fix any technology related problem as fast as possible. (My brother's Ivy League school charged him for printing and for tech support on his computer.) Bucknell provides a great environment for you to learn, personal attention from professors, great facilities and tech support. All you need is the passion to learn. Besides, Bucknell CS professors are the only one I know that will take their students to electronic entertainment expose for free, just kidding.
How did the education you receive at Bucknell prepare you for your current activity?
What you learn at Bucknell will be the building blocks that will help you to learn well what it is in the real world. I was able learn very quickly at my job simply because I have a wide breadth of knowledge and a solid understanding of CS thanks to Bucknell.
