LEWISBURG, Pa. — Bucknell University will host nearly 5,000 visitors participating in about 40 conferences beginning June 5.

Bucknell’s annual Reunion Weekend will be held May 29 to June 1; for more information, visit http://www.bucknell.edu/x721.xml.

The University's summer guest program, which offers accommodation for alumni families in Bucknell West, is scheduled for June 6 through July 30.

The summer school session will be held June 9 to July 18. Other Bucknell-sponsored conferences include the Mid Atlantic Researchers June 11-13; a college admissions workshop June 22-25; an engineering camp July 6-13; a digital library conference July 7; the How to Engineer Engineering Education workshop July 20-23; and the HEAF Boot Camp (Harlem Education Activities Fund) Aug. 2-8.

Seminar for Younger Poets
Students, faculty and visiting poets participating in the annual Seminar for Younger Poets will read from their works during the seminar held June 8 to 29. Visiting poets Kazim Ali, Karla Kelsey and Tracy K. Smith will join director G.C. Waldrep and staff members Deirdre O'Connor, Erinn Batykefer and K.A. Hays.

Readings, which will be held in Bucknell Hall, are open to the public. Scheduled readings include: a staff reading with Waldrep, Hays, Batykefer and O'Connor on June 10 at 7 p.m.; guest poet Smith and six Seminar Fellows on June 12 at 7 p.m.; guest poet Ali and six Seminar Fellows on June 23 at 7 p.m.; guest poet Kelsey on June 26 at 7 p.m.; and a final reading with all Fellows on June 28 at 7:30 p.m.

Sports camps: girls basketball individual June 18-21; Bison shoot-out tournament June 20-21; girls basketball team June 22-26; boys basketball team June 26-28; boys basketball individual June 29-July 3; boys lacrosse July 1-3; wrestling July 6-10 and July 18-20; girls field hockey July 10-13; water polo July 13-17; boys soccer camp July 13-17 and July 20-24; cross country/track July 20-24; baseball July 24-27; and girls soccer July 27-30.

The Mid-Atlantic Long Course Swimming Championships will be held July 8 to 12 with teams from Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware competing, and the PIAA football officials clinic will be held July 20.

Cavalcade of Champions
The sixth annual Cavalcade of Champions drum and bugle corps competition will be held on Saturday, July 19, at 7 p.m. in the Christy Mathewson-Memorial Stadium. Tickets go on sale at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 23, online at http://www.bucknell.edu/boxoffice.xml or at the Weis Center box office weekdays 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Featured performers are the Reading Buccaneers, the Bushwackers of Norwalk, Conn., Hawthorne (N.J.) Caballeros, and Empire Statesmen of Rochester, N.Y., with the Hawthorne Caballeros Alumni Band and the Preston Scout House Drum and Bugle Corps as well as the Lewisburg and Mifflinburg High School marching bands.
