Abe Feuerstein

Abe Feuerstein came to Bucknell in 1996 after completing his Ph.D. in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies at the University of Virginia. As a member of the Education Department he coordinated the Educational Administration Program, supervised student teachers in local school districts, and taught courses in school politics, school finance, and social foundations of education. For the past six years Abe has served as chair of the Education Department. His scholarly interests include K-12 school governance, superintendent/school board relations, and school reform. He has published in journals such as Educational Administration Quarterly, the Journal of School Leadership, and the AmericanSchool Board Journal.
Within the university, Abe has served as a member of the Committee on Academic Freedom and Tenure, and the Academic Planning Group. He has also worked with the Service Learning Advisory Committee and participated in several university trips to Mississippi and Louisiana to assist with hurricane Katrina relief efforts.
