Common Ground

What is it?
Common Ground is a student-led diversity immersion retreat program dedicated to exploring human relations in personal and powerful ways. Common Ground equips leaders with the tools to actively and thoughtfully promote respect and understanding of others in their communities.
Over the weekend we will participate in activities and discussions helping us to explore race/ethnicity, sexual orientation, and gender.

How much does it cost?
Nothing! It is completely free. That means $0.00!
Who is it for?
Everyone. There is no pre-requisite or requirement to be able to apply.

Objectives and Goals:
- Raise student awareness and understanding of personal, societal, and global biases and structures of inequity
- Understanding this personal connection to launch intellectual and academic inquiry around diversity, democracy, and globalization
- Equip students to be equity change agents in the classroom, boardroom, and living room
- Improve campus climate to help retain underrepresented students, to attract underrepresented faculty, and to enrich the learning environment for all
Mission
As a student-run organization, challenges people to think critically about issues of diversity in an environment open to all perspectives.
