Bucknell SBDC hosts 30th anniversary celebration

LEWISBURG, Pa. — The Bucknell University Small Business Development Center (SBDC) will host a 30th anniversary luncheon, "Growing Small Businesses," Tuesday, Aug. 5, at 11:30 a.m. in the Col. John Kelly Room at the Country Cupboard restaurant in Lewisburg.
Jon Vernam, director of the Bucknell SBDC, and Dave Myers, chief of staff and secretary of Bucknell University, will speak during lunch.
Small-business owners who will share the stories of their success include Bryan Allinson, director of Geisinger Ventures, and Kelly O'Brien Gavin, ASET Solar in Bloomsburg, winner of the business plan contest.
Invited guests
Other invited guests are Rep. Russ Fairchild and Sen. John Gordner; representatives of Sen. Roger Madigan and Sen. Bob Casey; David Dickson, Small Business Administration district director, Philadelphia; Dee Kaplan, deputy secretary for business assistance with the Department of Community and Economic Development; Jim Orbison, dean of the Bucknell College of Engineering, and Veronica Hostetter, a former SBDC student intern who is accounting manager with Ingram Fuels Inc.
