Burma-Bucknell Bowl: For outstanding contributions to intercultural and international understanding

Staff Awards: the John F. Zeller Award for outstanding contributions by support staff, the Walter C. Geiger Award for outstanding contributions by administrative staff, and the Barry R. Maxwell Award for outstanding cross-functional efforts

Ron Ziemian, professor of civil engineering, has received the 2013 Shortridge Hardesty Award, presented by the American Society of Civil Engineers for achievement in the field of structural stability. [posted April 15, 2013]

Claire Vaye Watkins, assistant professor of English, has been honored with The Story Prize for short fiction for her short story collection Battleborn. [posted March 14, 2013]

Shara McCallum, professor of English and director of the Stadler Center for Poetry, has been chosen by U.S. Poet Laureate Natasha Trethewey for a 2013 Witter Bynner Fellowship. McCallum will give a reading April 2 at the Library of Congress. [posted March 14, 2013]

Margot Vigeant, associate professor of chemical engineering and associate dean of engineering, has been accepted into the global community of Apple Distinguished Educators class of 2013. [posted Feb. 27, 2013]
