'Break the 28' series continues Black History Month celebration
Bucknell University's celebration of Black History Month, "Break the 28," continues throughout February with several events, including the Griot Institute series, "Sally Hemings and Thomas Jefferson: An American Origin Story," which will feature lectures, a film and a soundscape.

- A research poster by Bucknell senior Brittany Whitley has been honored with the 2012 Lynn Riddiford Best Poster Award for work in comparative endocrinology at the SICB meeting for research conducted with Mark Haussman, assistant professor of biology. [posted Feb. 6, 2012]
- Robert Stockland Jr., associate professor of chemistry, co-authored the paper, "P-H activation using alkynylgold substrates: Steric and electronic effects," selected as a 'hot article' by the Royal Society of Chemistry. Co-authors are alumni Gerald Manbeck '06, Mark Kohler '07 and Meghan Mulcrone Porter '07. [posted Nov. 15, 2011]
- Tim Raymond, associate professor of chemical engineering, has received funding from the National Science Foundation for the topic of "Implementing Guided Inquiry in Diverse Institutions." [posted Oct. 27, 2011]
- James Baish, professor of biomedical and mechanical engineering, authored the paper, "Scaling rules for diffusive drug delivery in tumor and normal tissues," published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Science. [posted Oct. 27, 2011]
