BIOLOGY PREREGISTRATION INFORMATION FOR SPRING 2010 ELECTIVE COURSES:  You must complete and submit the attached course selection form (see bottom of page) to select upper-level biology courses during the upcoming Registration process! (Paper forms are available in the Biology Office, 203 Biology Building.)

 

Instructions for the .pdf or paper forms - fill in by hand, and submit in person to Karen Shrawder in Biology 203B

Instructions for the Word document form - type in your information and submit to Karen Shrawder at shrawder@bucknell.edu

 

 

IMPORTANT DATES:

(1)        Wednesday, October 7 - Completed course selection form is due in Biology Department Office (Biology Building 203B) by 12:00 noon.  Please be sure to fill in ALL blanks!

(2)        Monday, October 19 - Tentative class lists will be posted on the second-floor bulletin board near the Biology Department Office.  This is one week prior to the start of Advising Week and two weeks before Registration begins on November 2.

(3)        Monday, October 19-Friday, October 23 - Check these posted lists and sign/initial them by 12:00 noon on 10/23 to signify your intention to take the course(s) granted; failure to do so may result in your slot in that course being offered to another student.  (Overseas students - "OVERSEAS" will be indicated in the blanks after your names; don't worry about signing!)

(4)        Monday, October 26-Friday, October 30 - During Advising Week, you should meet with your adviser to make sure that you are on track for graduation.  Be sure to let your adviser know which 300-level biology course(s) you have been assigned to.

(5)        Starting Monday, November 2 - You DO still need to go through the official registration process during your scheduled registration time, either on-line according to instructions in your registration packet, or via a paper form submitted to the Registrar's Office; either way, it is advisable to check with the Registrar's Office in person to verify your registration for these classes.

 

 

REMINDER:  Simply completing this departmental pre-registration process does NOT guarantee your spot in a biology class.  YOU MUST STILL REGISTER!

 

 

Priority for enrollment in preferred courses is determined according to:

(1)        requirements for majors

(2)        seniors before juniors

(3)        students previously denied enrollment

(4)        Area (I, II, or III) requirements

(5)        area of research interests

(6)        enrollment in second biology course only as space is available (except BIOL 399)

(7)        if all above criteria are equal among a group of students, assignments are made in the order the completed preregistration forms are received.

 

 

*** SENIORS -- You are responsible for knowing which Biology courses you need to graduate. ***
Check your Academic Progress Report or contact your Adviser to confirm what courses you need.
