Stephanie Larson focuses part of her research on the study of Women in the Ancient Graeco-Roman world. She has written on women in Herodotus and on the poetess Sappho and her relation to previous Greek models of traditional women. She is working on a new project about desire in Herodotus as it relates to the gender inversion of male kings who seek absolute power.
