All Bucknell borrowers may view checked-out items and renew online by logging onto myBucknell. From the myInformation channel, click on Library Account.
Remote access to Library and IT Resources
Just because you're not on campus over break doesn't mean you can't access Bucknell's online resources. If you'd like to access your public and private Netspace from off campus, or send secure mail using Outlook, all you need to do is install the Virtual Private Network (VPN) software. Details can be found here.
If you'd like to access the library's research databases from off campus, you can. Many of the databases allow remote access simply by logging in using your Bucknell username and password. The best way to access the research databases is by clicking on "Go to Research by Subject" within the myLibrary tab on myBucknell. This will take you to research guides grouped by academic discipline. You can also explore all of our databases by accessing the complete list of databases.

Before you go away for any sort of break, make sure you and your laptop are prepared to travel:
Check your battery: Is it fully charged? How long does it hold a charge?
Pack your power adapter: Do you have all the parts to the power adapter?
Run updates: Do you need Windows Updates on your Windows computer? Do you need Software Updates on your Mac?
Backup your files: If you use a local hard drive, run a complete backup before you travel. Copy very important files to your netspace private folder.
Purchase a laptop lock and flash drive: You will need a laptop lock to secure your computer in public places, like hotel rooms, airports, and cafes. A flash drive will enable you to backup any new or changed files while you are on the road. These items are available from the Bucknell Bookstore.
While you are traveling, keep these items in mind:
Use good security practices: Don’t leave your laptop unattended. Ever. Don’t leave your laptop in a car or hotel room. Make sure your laptop never gets too hot or too cold. Always use your laptop lock. Backup your data regularly by copying your files to a flash drive or burning files to CD/DVD. Use caution when accessing confidential data with public wireless services.
