Standards for Stationery
To achieve a consistent image of the university, all departments and offices will use letterhead, envelopes, business cards, and other related materials shown in this section. All stationery must be ordered through the administrative services department, which has overall responsibility for the consistent application of the standards established for official university stationery and which is the only source of official, watermarked paper. Funds administered by Bucknell, including grants to the university, cannot be used to print stationery and related items not approved by the director of administrative services, the director of communications, or the manager of procurement services. Letterhead and EnvelopesBucknell’s letterhead features the seal and the word mark centered at the top, with the seal used as the watermark for the 8 1/2” x 11” sheet. For large mailings (over 500), a commodity grade of paper without the watermark also is available. The letterhead also is available in a 6” x 9” size with matching envelope, which may be used for personal notes. This size does not come with the watermark. Letter FormatTo provide a more standardized look for Bucknell correspondence, we ask that you begin the letter at least 1/2” beneath the Bucknell word mark and that you leave a 1 and 1/8” margin on the left, a 1” margin on the right, and a 1” margin at the bottom of the page. Letters should be printed in 11 point Minion, Helvetica, Times New Roman, or Arial font and should follow the format shown below. Business CardsBusiness cards will be printed for faculty and staff members, using the format shown here. The number of lines (maximum of 10) used for the business card may vary according to the length of titles and names and the information used. Website addresses may be used if there is room on the card, but must list the Bucknell site or departmental site if the personal web address is given. All orders for business cards must be placed though the administrative services department and can be ordered online. LabelsDepartmental mailing labels for laser printers are available through the administrative services department in the style shown here. All departments and offices should use this standard label. Memos and Fax Cover SheetsMemo sheets (8 1/2” x 11” and half-page size) are available from the administrative services department, printed in blue on white. You may access the memo form as well as fax cover sheets by going to myBucknell under "Bucknell Forms." Persons needing headings for informational sheets or business forms should use the style shown here (also available on the website listed here).
