Recycling (By the Numbers)

Each year approximately 1800 tons of garbage is generated by Bucknell University. That's enough trash to fill Sojka Pavilion in less than 3 years. Much of this solid waste is transported to the Lycoming Landfill at a cost of $45/ton.

Last year Bucknell University recycled approximately 340 tons of materials, but that's only 18% of the waste stream. This year we hope to approach 60%.
