- W. Tennis. Bison Women's Tennis Nets Nine Patriot League Academic Honor Roll Selections
Bucknell women's tennis led the Patriot League with nine Academic Honor Roll selections, it was announced on Tuesday. Claudia Silvers was one of four student-athletes in the conference to post a perfect 4.0 grade-point average during the spring semester.

- M. Tennis. Bucknell Men's Tennis Paces Patriot League with Six Academic Honor Roll Selections
Bucknell men's tennis placed six student-athletes on the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, it was announced on Tuesday. Leading the group was Josh Katten with a 3.89 grade-point average and four of the six are multi-term honorees.

- Football. Bucknell Football's Matthew Steinbeck Earns Spot on CFPA Defensive Back Award Watch List
For the third time in as many weeks a Bucknell player has earned preseason recognition from the College Football Performance Awards (CFPA). Junior safety Matthew Steinbeck recently earned a spot on the 2013 CFPA Football Championship Subdivision Defensive Back Award Watch List, joining Sean Sellers (Defensive Line Watch List) and Evan Byers (Linebacker Watch List) as Bison who have garnered honors from the organization.

Bucknell senior associate director of athletics Calvin Symons has announced his retirement after six years overseeing two units within Bison Athletics. Symons came to Bucknell in 2007 as director of NCAA compliance and student services, and for the last two years he had served as director of operations and events.
- Rowing. Bucknell Women's Rowing's Adrian Edmonds Named a Lightweight All-American
Senior Adrian Edmonds (Roswell, Ga./Centennial), a member of the Bucknell women's rowing team, was named a Lightweight All-American by the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA), it was announced this week. A three-time member of the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, Edmonds was the six seat of the Bison lightweight eight that placed fourth at the IRA National Championship Regatta earlier this month.
- M. Swimming. Bucknell Men's Swimming and Diving Welcomes Five Newcomers in 2013-14
Bucknell head swimming and diving coach Dan Schinnerer announced on Wednesday the Bison men's team's incoming recruiting class for 2013-14. Five promising student-athletes will join the squad in the fall and will help replace five seniors that graduated last month.

Bucknell head swimming and diving coach Dan Schinnerer announced on Wednesday the nine recruits that will join the Bison women's program in the fall. Bucknell saw six seniors graduate last month and this class will bolster an already impressive group of returning student-athletes as the Bison look to remain near the top of the competitive Patriot League.

Last week Bucknell Athletics received a program-record 19 NCAA Academic Progress Rate (APR) National Recognition Awards, the third-highest total among all Division I institutions. On Tuesday the NCAA followed up with the release of team-by-team APR data, and once again this year all 27 Bison squads surpassed the NCAA's standards with flying colors.

- Football. Bucknell Football's Evan Byers Named to CFPA Linebacker Award Watch List
The College Football Performance Awards (CFPA) recently announced its watch list for the 2013 CFPA Football Championship Subdivision Linebacker Award and Bucknell's Evan Byers earned a spot on the list, which includes 35 returning performers vying for the top individual defensive end and defensive tackle awards in FCS. Byers is the second Bison to earn preseason recognition from the CFPA, following Sean Sellers' selection last week to the watch list for defensive lineman.

- W. Basketball. Roussell Represents Bucknell Women's Basketball at The Center for Coaching Excellence
Bucknell women's basketball head coach Aaron Roussell recently was one of 32 coaches to complete the first session of the 2013 edition of The Center for Coaching Excellence (CCE), an invitation-only, two-and-a-half day elite leadership program hosted by Columbia University. Created in 2011 through a partnership between Columbia and the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA), the CCE introduces coaches to various aspects of leadership and provides a deeper understanding and appreciation of the importance of ethics and integrity in college women's basketball through a rigorous curriculum presented in a seminar-style environment.

- M. Track. Bucknell's Leonard Joseph Earns All-America Honors in Hammer at NCAA Championship
Bucknell track and field's Leonard Joseph earned Second Team All-America honors in the hammer throw, finishing 11th at the NCAA Championship at Hayward Field on Thursday afternoon. The senior posted a throw of 208-1 in his final collegiate meet and became the first Bison to be named an All-American multiple times since Thomas McLean from 1975-77.
- Field Hockey. Bucknell's Montgomery Selected to U.S. Women's National Field Hockey Squad
Bucknell associate head coach Jamie Montgomery will be leaving the Bison to join the U.S. Women's National Field Hockey Squad, USA Field Hockey and Bucknell head coach Jeremy Cook announced on Thursday. Montgomery was one of 30 players nationwide to be named to the team to represent the United States at the World Cup, the International Hockey Federation's World league Semi-Final later this month and eventually the Olympics.

- General News. Bucknell Athletics Ranks Third Nationally with Program-Record 19 NCAA APR Public Recognition Awards
Bucknell Athletics has received a program-record 19 Academic Progress Rate (APR) Public Recognition Awards, the NCAA announced today, and that is the third-highest total among the 346 Division I programs, trailing only Dartmouth (25) and Brown (20). Bucknell has ranked among the national leaders in Public Recognition Awards in all eight years since the NCAA began honoring programs that rank in the top 10 percent in APR scores within their respective sports.

Going into the Knecht Cup heat, the first varsity eight coxswain, Jackie McKeone, couldn't compete due to an academic responsibility that held her in Lewisburg for an additional day. She would be driving down to meet the team the following day to compete in the final, pending qualification. Jamie Coia, the second varsity eight coxswain, was asked to lead the varsity eight in Jackie's stead. What should have been a routine performance quickly turned into the race of a lifetime. The following is Jamie's recollection of the events.
