Majors in Economics will be able to:

Understand and distinguish the three dominant schools of contemporary economic thought, and evaluate the competing ideas and methodologies represented by these paradigms. (1,5,6,7,9)

Synthesize the principal concepts of the competing schools into a broader and deeper understanding of modern economics.  (1,3,4,5,6,7,9)

Apply theories, tools and concepts to the analysis of contemporary global, as well as domestic, economic issues. (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,9)

Analyze critically, in an appropriate historical context, current economic issues as presented in major newspapers and other print and non-print media. (1,4,5,6,7,9)
