Planning and Institutional Research
The Office of Planning and Institutional Research engages in a wide range of activities that collectively support the administration, faculty, staff, and students of Bucknell University. From providing general information for external reporting to coordinating outcomes assessment, the Office of Planning and Institutional Research collects and communicates information to support the continual growth of the University. The primary functions of the Office are to: - Coordinate with the Associate Provost the Middle States Self-Study and site visit
- Track Bucknell's performance against long range goals and objectives
- Coordinate campus survey activity
- Develop, implement and coordinate Bucknell’s comprehensive plan for institutional educational outcomes assessment.
- Work with academic departments to develop and implement student learning assessment plans
- Create and maintain a longitudinal and comparative database of institutional information Maintain the safety and well being of human subjects in University research through the Institutional Review Board
- Coordinate, standardize, and verify University data released to the public
- Coordinate reporting to external agencies and data sharing consortia (IPEDS, HEDS, AICUP), and complete surveys for college guides and professional associations
- Verify all data for major university publications
- Serve as a liaison for the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (accrediting body).
- Benchmark on relevant indicators for admissions and general peer group (enrollment, endowment, comprehensive fee, faculty salary, budget expenditures)
- Track student persistence, completions, and attrition
- Administer the first-year, end of first year, and senior surveys
- Provide recurring research support for University administration
- Perform other duties as requested by the administration and faculty including committee service and special project participation
