Samuel Johnson Tercentenary Exhibit

In recognition of the tercentenary of the birth of Samuel Johnson, the Bucknell Humanities Institute, supported by the Office of the Provost, commemorated Johnson’s life and work, his contribution to the western literary tradition, to the American tradition of liberal education, and to his continuing place in the curriculum on college campuses such as Bucknell.

In March 2009 Bucknell hosted a number of events recognizing Samuel Johnson, including an exhibit of Johnsonian books and artifacts in the Bertrand Library. This exhibit was curated by Isabella O'Neill, Curator of Special Collections at the Bertrand Library.
