Texting the Reference Desk

How to contact the Reference Desk via Text Message (SMS):

Here's an iPhone screen capture of a user starting a text message to the Reference Desk:

1. Text your question to: 265010
2. Start your message with: "BucknellLibrary"
3. Type your question and send.
4. You will be required to reply to a verification message before being able to receive the Reference Desk's response.

Things to be aware of:

1. Short Questions --> Short Answers.  Due to the limited length of text messages, please direct more detailed questions to the Reference Desk through another channel.
2. Please remember to use proper etiquette when using this service.  Keep in mind you are communicating with librarians and other professionals.
3. Sending and receiving text messages may result in charges from your mobile provider, depending on your plan.
4.  This reference service is maintained by the individual working the Reference Desk.  There may be a delay in receiving a response.  Please be patient!
