Since its founding in 1846, Bucknell University has benefitted from the able leadership of 16 presidents. The Bucknell University Board of Trustees recently announced a nationwide search to recruit the 17th president of the University to succeed Brian C. Mitchell, who on June 24, 2009 announced his intention to step down from the presidency effective June 30, 2010.
The selection and appointment of a new president is one of the most important responsibilities of the Board of Trustees. With confidence in its future and pride in its past, the University seeks an individual who will lead this institution as it continues progress on its strategic imperatives, embody a commitment to excellence, serve as an articulate and effective representative of Bucknell in all settings, and advance Bucknell to the next stage of its distinguished history.
The Presidential Search website is a portal for providing relevant information to candidates and for facilitating interactive communication between the Search Committee and the University's constituencies.
