Kimberly Wilson Wetty '93 joined Valerie Wilson Travel, Inc. in February 1995. An expert in luxury travel, Kimberly has been instrumental in developing the company's cruise division, which has become a top producer for all established luxury and premium cruise lines. Her success led quickly to the expansion of her role at VWT. Just three years after coming on board, she took on the management of all leisure business. Kimberly is also responsible for maintaining VWT's membership in Virtuoso, a by-invitation-only organization comprised of the world's finest travel agencies and most knowledgeable advisors.
In addition to the leisure side of the business, Kimberly spends much of her time growing the VWT brand through new Branch and Affiliate locations, new Associate Agents, and marketing alliances and programs. Most recently, Kimberly forged a one-of-a-kind "Honeymoon Partnership" with Kleinfeld, marrying the best in wedding dresses with the best in travel.
As Co-President, she is an integral part of the overall management of the company and its daily operations with a special emphasis on Human Resources.
Honored many times by her industry, Kimberly was named a Top Travel Specialist by Condé Nast Traveler consecutively since 2005. And, in 2009, she was listed as a Top Travel Specialist by Travel+Leisure in the Family Travel category. Additionally, she was named by Travel Agent as "A Rising Star" and Travel Weekly picked her in the "40 Under 40" listing.
Kimberly represents Valerie Wilson Travel, Inc. on several Advisory Boards including Travel+Leisure Magazine, Rosewood Hotels and Resorts, Regent Seven Seas Cruises, Classic Vacations, Park Hyatt Hotels, as well as serving on the Virtuoso Tour Committee. She is also a member of the Young Presidents' Organization (YPO). Additionally, Kimberly's comments and perspective are regularly sought by consumer and trade publications, her experience used as a sounding board for new approaches, products and promotions, and her presence requested as a participant at a variety of industry roundtable discussions.
A graduate of Bucknell University with a BA in Sociology, Kimberly began her career as a store manager for Ann Taylor in New York City. Her passion for travel, people, retail sales and management eventually led her to CIGA Hotels where she coordinated marketing efforts in the Americas for 30 international hotels.
Kimberly, who is a dedicated runner and remains an active alumna and volunteer for Bucknell University, resides in Bronxville, New York with her husband Matt and their two children, Andrew and Ashley.
