Carolyn Neely Ainslie '80
Carolyn Neely Ainslie '80 is Princeton's chief financial officer, responsible for the central financial functions of the university. She is the official custodian of the university's financial records, responsible for the preparation and maintenance of both internal and external financial reports and analyses, including audited financial statements, federal research cost submissions, and federal and state tax returns. She leads and oversees the offices of asset administration, budget, controller, financial systems, payroll, purchasing, risk management and tax. She is a member of the University Priorities Committee and partners with campus leaders on resource and financial management issues and plans.
Prior to taking this position at Princeton in October 2008, she spent over twenty years at Cornell University in various leadership roles. A graduate of Bucknell University, Class of 1980, Carolyn earned an MBA from the University of Rochester in 1983. She serves on the board of the Princeton University Investment Company (PRINCO) and the Association of America Universities (AAU) Investment Committee.
Carolyn lives in Princeton, New Jersey with her husband, Timothy Ainslie '80 and her sons Alex (Cornell class of 2010) and Adam, age 14.
