Posted: January 11, 2010
LEWISBURG, Pa. — Beginning Jan. 27, the Bucknell University Small Business Development Center and Central Pennsylvania Workforce Development are hosting a series of educational programs to help entrepreneurs and established small- and medium-sized businesses understand and respond to Marcellus Shale-related business opportunities.
As development of Marcellus Shale natural gas grows in Pennsylvania, energy firms are coming to the Commonwealth to extract natural gas from Marcellus, and are creating significant business opportunities for local businesses and entrepreneurs.
The series, "Your Business and Marcellus Shale: Voices of Experience," includes four webinars on Jan. 27, Feb. 3, Feb. 10 and Feb. 17. Each session begins at 8 a.m. in Hunt Formal at Bucknell.
The cost of the series is $10 per session. Registration is required as seating is limited. For more information about the series or to register, contact the SBDC at SBDC@bucknell.edu.
The series will include leaders from Penn State Cooperative Extension who will highlight successful Pennsylvania local businesses who are adapting to the opportunities, perspectives from the natural gas companies, and a panel of industry and local business partners.
