The Walter C. Geiger Award
Purpose
Named in honor of the late Walter C. Geiger, former Director of the Physical Plant, the Geiger Award recognizes a member of the administrative staff who has demonstrated consistent excellence in the conduct of his or her responsibilities over the past year. Recipients of this award exemplify the outstanding contributions made by many administrative staff over the course of their careers at Bucknell.
Eligibility
Full time and part time administrative staff members with at least two years of service to the University are eligible for award consideration. Staff members who have previously won the award are not eligible. Staff members who have previously been nominated, but did not win the award, can have their name resubmitted for consideration in the following year.
Nomination Process
Nominations are accepted online via myBucknell. Nominations will be reviewed initially by the Administrative Personnel Committee (APC). Please note that only nomination forms are accepted; emails of support for a nomination will no longer be forwarded to the committee for consideration. The Operations and Management Group will make the final selection from a slate of recommendations put forward by the APC.
Award Criteria
The Geiger Award honors those that have demonstrated consistent excellence in both their exceptional contributions to Bucknell and their professionalism in working with others in their day to day work. The Bucknell Core Competencies serve as the foundation for the award criteria. Each nomination should include specific examples of how the nominee has consistently demonstrated two or more of the core competencies in their role at Bucknell.
