The Plan for Bucknell
Dear Fellow Bucknellians and Friends of the University:
The Plan for Bucknell, the University’s new strategic plan, reflects the work of literally thousands within the Bucknell community who engaged in building The Plan for the past 14 months. On April 29, 2006, the Board of Trustees unanimously approved The Plan.
On behalf of the Board of Trustees, faculty, staff, and students, I thank everyone who has been involved in this collaborative process. You have made possible a strategy that sets out a worthy and achievable vision for Bucknell: To provide students with the premier undergraduate experience in American higher education.
The Plan comprises five strategies that will guide us as we work to achieve the University’s highest purposes:
- Strengthen the academic core.
- Deepen the residential learning experience.
- Enhance diversity.
- Build bridges.
- Secure our financial future.
We will begin implementing The Plan immediately. The director of the Office of Strategy Implementation will assist faculty, staff, and students in developing, prioritizing, and implementing tactics associated with The Plan.
