Projects and Outcomes
In the coming months, the Green Fund Committee will determine the procedure for submission and review of proposed projects. At the beginning of fall semester, the committee will educate the campus about this process and invite proposals. You can follow the progress of our projects and outcomes here.
Sample Sustainability Projects
Bucknell University installed VendingMiser™ motion sensors on forty vending machines on campus in August 2011. The reduction in energy consumption is expected to save Bucknell 42,000 kWh per year ($4,200). The full payback on the project is estimated to be less than 20 months!
Union College purchased 1,200 reusable coffee mugs for student houses. || Read more
Yale began a "y-Bay" site like e-bay for people to post and claim unused goods, including office furniture. || Read more
Oberlin College put insulation jackets on their water heaters and had a 4-9% reduction in operating cost per year. || Read more
Harvard University installed new recycling containers next to solar powered trash compactors. This reduced trips to service bins as well as the volume of waste. || Read more
