LEWISBURG, Pa. — The Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at Bucknell University will offer the workshop, "Manage Your Lawyer," Thursday, June 17, from 9 to 11 a.m. in the SBDC Education Center, Room 207 of the Chamberlin Building, 434 Market St. in Lewisburg.
Brian Caffrey, who founded Manage Your Lawyer in 2009, will lead the workshop, designed to help business owners become better consumers of legal services.
Topics include: how lawyers view you; how lawyers' fees are determined; what bargaining power you have; how to tell if you're being fairly billed; and how much say you have in decisions and strategies in your case.
A graduate of Penn State University and Georgetown University Law Center, Caffrey began his career as a prosecuting attorney. He has worked for a number of law firms in private practice, focusing on civil litigation. He also has practiced in the areas of real estate, employment law, and representing small businesses.
The cost to attend is $35 per person. Registration is required as seating is limited. To register, call the SBDC at 570-577-1249 or toll-free at 1-866-375-6010; e-mail SBDC@bucknell.edu, or visit www.bucknell.edu/script/sbdc/register.asp. Veterans may attend free of charge.
