Wayne Bromfield has been general counsel to Bucknell University since his appointment in November 2001. He had served as interim general counsel from February 2001.
He is responsible for the legal affairs and contracts of the University, risk management and insurance, and compliance with federal and state regulations.
Bromfield received his A.B. from Duke University in 1969 and his Juris Doctor degree from Dickinson Law School in 1974. He was in a private practice partnership in Lewisburg until 1985, also serving as Solicitor of Union County for 10 years. In 1986, he was elected judge of Union and Snyder counties. From 1990 to 1997, he served as President Judge of the 17th Judicial District (Union and Snyder counties).
From 1997 to 2001, Bromfield was General Counsel to the JPM Co., a public company headquartered in Lewisburg, Pa. From 1998 to the present, he has also served as a lecturer in business law in Bucknell's management department.
