Walk-In Hours

Counselors are professionally trained and licensed.  Services are available to students at no cost. Psychologists, counselors and social workers are bound both ethically and legally to honor your privacy except in situations where there exists the potential of harm to yourself or others or there is evidence of current child abuse.

Walk-In Consultation for Students in Crisis

For students who feel unable to wait for a regularly scheduled appointment, one-time walk-in consultation appointments are also available week days on a first-come first-served basis from 3 to 4 p.m. These somewhat abbreviated appointments give the counselor an opportunity to make contact with a student and to determine how to best be of assistance.

Psychiatric Consultation

Students who wish to meet with our consulting psychiatrist must first meet with a staff counselor to discuss their concerns and to determine if a referral for psychiatric consultation is appropriate. On-going psychiatric treatment is only provided for students who are also working with a counselor at Psychological Services.

Healthy Paths

A program of coordinated care to help students address food, weight and body image concerns. For information, please contact Psychological Services (x71604), Student Health Services (x71401), the University's registered dietitian (x71401) or Community Health Promotion (x71705).

Finding an Off-Campus Counselor

Occasionally, students prefer to work with a counselor in the surrounding community or may wish to work with a counselor at home over winter break, during the summer or when on leave. Our staff can help students to find a counselor in the Lewisburg area or in the student's home community.
