Becoming a Man at Bucknell; Building Men of Integrity and Character. It DOES take a village

You are invited to attend a presentation that focuses on the topic of becoming a man of character and integrity. We all hear the phrase, 'boys will be boys.' That phrase, and all that it has come to mean in terms of normalized behavior, is at the root of this presentation. Historically male initiation ceremonies were intended to ensure that boys became balanced men that would benefit the community. Dr. Balistrieri will offer a brief history of male initiation, the process involved, what has happened to that aspect of male development in our country and what Bucknell is doing on a pilot basis to bring some components of male initiation back into the developmental picture. Location:The Forum, Elaine Langone Center
