Baking 101

An introduction to a range of baking techniques, this workshop is designed to teach novice bakers the essential skills for home baking projects. Students will have hands-on experience preparing a variety of recipes, including yeast breads, quick-breads, cookies and cakes; the class will also teach students the principles behind the techniques and the ingredients used. All supplies included. All skill levels are welcome.

 

Brian Garthwaite
Brian is a self-taught, amateur cook and baker, and leader of the slow food convivium in the Central Susquehanna region. His understanding of and experience in cooking are informed by an engineering background and work experience in organic farming, as a farm chef, and as a professional coffee roaster.
