Emergency Callboxes
There are 43 emergency blue light telephone callboxes located throughout the campus which are a direct line to the emergency dispatcher at all times.
These callboxes are painted yellow with a blue light above them and are indicated on the map contained in the "Your Car on Campus" brochure which is distributed to each student at the beginning of each school year (see parking map - PDF) 2nd page.
When opened, these callboxes immediately notify the Public Safety dispatcher (Communications Center) of their activation and their location.
If the caller's inquiry cannot be satisfied by the dispatcher, a Public Safety officer is dispatched to the callbox location to investigate.
All students and staff are encouraged to know their locations and use these emergency callboxes whenever they require assistance.
Since entrance to Residence Halls now requires a proximity card, phones are available outside of secure buildings so that students can easily contact residents.
