"I knew I wanted to be an engineer, so my high school guidance counselor steered me toward the best engineering schools, including Bucknell. I narrowed down my search online then visited Bucknell first and knew that this is where I wanted to be. Every student I encountered was overflowing with positive things to say about Bucknell. It just felt right."
"Bucknell's engineering program is ranked and it has a great reputation. I like the fact that it's a relatively small school, so I get the personal attention I need, plus it offers all the perks of a big-name school, such as impressive alumni networks. A lot of Bucknell alumni come back to recruit at the College of Engineering. That is how I got my internship with ExxonMobil last summer. I will begin my career there after graduation.
"I work as a teaching assistant and course mentor for introductory engineering seminars. I talk to first-year students about the different engineering disciplines and help them make decisions about classes, majors and minors. The engineering program is intense, and I like helping new students when I can. I also was recently selected to represent the CoE at the first annual USA Science and Engineering Festival in Washington, D.C."
"I've lived in CHOICE housing all four years at Bucknell. There are a lot of interesting people and many opportunities to have fun, and I love the warm and quiet environment in Kress Hall. I was very involved in music and performing arts in high school, and I've been able to continue that at Bucknell. I play flute in the Pep Band and work as an usher at the Weis Center, so I get to see all of the shows.
"I've been very fortunate to receive a generous scholarship from the Class of 1943. I would not be here without it. I've already started setting aside money to donate to a Bucknell scholarship after I graduate. It will be for whoever really needs the money to be able to attend Bucknell. I feel that as a blessed Bucknellian, I owe it to the next generation of Bucknellians."
