Below are the three required steps for Pre-Departure for all off-campus/study abroad students. Failure to complete these Pre-Departure requirements will jeopardize students' approval for off-campus/study abroad.

Step 1: REVIEW

the Pre-Departure Forms Videos located to the right.

Step 2: COMPLETE and SUBMIT

ALL forms to your Study Abroad Advisor in the Lower Level of the Botany Building by October 24, 2013.You can download a pdf of the Complete Pre-Departure Form Packet with Checklist or download each form individually as they are listed below.

Step 3: REGISTER

for a "Maximize Your Off-Campus/Study Abroad Experience" session (See registration link on right).

Step 4: Visit Bucknell Student Health Services

Be certain to visit BSH as soon as possible for vaccinations and travel physicals.  If students delay BSH may not be unable to schedule an appointment or accommodate a walk-in visit.  If students are not able to meet with BSH they must visit their home physician, which can be expensive.

Physical Exams:  Tuesday and Friday, 9:00 am - 11:30 am
Immunizations:  Tuesday, 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm; Wednesday, 9:00 am - 11:30 am and 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm


Pre-Departure Forms

Conditions of Participation Form: Student agreement with the Office of International Education

Assumption of Risk and Release Form: Student confirmation of Bucknell University policies regarding: Risks associated with off-campus study, institutional arrangements, early departure, standards of conduct, program changes, health/safety, program charges and health insurance.

Bucknell University Health Form: A self-evaluation of your personal health.

Transfer of Credit Form (TOC): The Transfer of Credit form is used to approve students' off-campus/study abroad courses for major, common learning agenda or general Bucknell University credits.

Financial Responsibilty Form: Student confirmation of Bucknell University policies regarding payment of tuition and non-tuition fees.

Off-Campus Registration Online Process:   You must complete this process to ensure you can register for courses once you return to campus.

Step 1: During advising week you must meet with your academic advisor to acquire your registration PIN.

Step 2: You will register for courses during your assigned registration time.

Step 3: Enter you appropriate CRN registration number (50515 Spring Semester Abroad or 10528 Fall Semester Abroad)

Step 4: In the section labeled number of credits you will take while abroad, select the box and change the value to 4

*Please note that if you have any holds on your account, you will not be able to register.  Make sure you clear all holds and complete this process before the end of the registration period.

Full Course Load Reference Sheet: This document lists the required number of courses, by program provider, a student must be enrolled in while studying abroad to maintain a full Bucknell University course load and to remain a fully registered Bucknell Univeristy student.

Previously Approved Course for non-Engineering Students
Previously Approved Courses for Engineering Students These lists contain courses that have been approved for Bucknell University credit. Students should use this list in conjunction with the Transfer of Credit form when selecting their courses.

College Core Curriculum (CCC) Requirements: It is often possible for students to meet certain CCC requirements while abroad.  Follow the attached guidelines for approval of courses in areas that will fulfill CCC requirements.
