Related Internships
- American University Summer Internship Program: Students participate not only in a summer internship related to international affairs but also in a seminar on American foreign policy.
- Bucknell Public Interest Program: BPIP supports students who are interested in participating in an unpaid internship in the non-profit sector.
- Capitol Hill Internship Program: Established in 2005 to provide up to eight internship opportunities in Washington, D.C. or in local Congressional districts.
- Central Intelligence Agency: Students will be given the opportunity to work with highly-skilled professionals and see first-hand the role the CIA plays in supporting US officials who make American foreign policy.
- CIEE: Council on International Educational Exchange: CIEE offers summer, semester, academic year and full year study programs with internships and research opportunities in Brazil, China, Dominican Republic, France, Germany, Hungary, Indonesia, the Netherlands, Poland, Spain and the UK. Programs include studies in culture, history, business, politics and other subjects, along with the languages of the host countries.
- Connect-123 Internship and Volunteer Programs: Connect-123 facilitates career-related internship and service learning opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students in Cape Town, Buenos Aires, Shanghai, Dublin and Barcelona in a wide range of fields including public health, medicine, education, economic development, business consulting, human rights, and journalism.
- Council on Foreign Relations: Interns are recruited year-round on a semester basis for both the New York and Washington, DC, offices. The fall and spring semesters require a minimum commitment of sixteen hours per week. The summer semester requires a full-time commitment. An intern's duties generally consist of administrative work, program coordination, research, editing, and writing. The internships are unpaid but provide a small stipend upon successful completion to offset transportation expenses.
- Educational Programmes Abroad: EPA offers semester-long and summer study internship programs for academic credit in the UK (London), Belgium, Germany, and Spain. In each location, students may work in national or regional government (for example, House of Commons, European Parliament). Other internship placements include business and banking; museums; theater; architecture and urban planning; health administration, hospitals and medical research; media; social welfare; environmental organizations.
- The National Security Agency's Intelligence Analysis Summer Program: College upperclassmen are offered the chance to work in a multi-faceted cryptologic discipline that involves research, analysis and the sharing of findings. It is an intensive 12-week program intended for highly-qualified college juniors, and consists of formal classroom instruction, workshops, and on- and off- site facilities tours. This training is combined with an apprenticeship with senior NSA analysts.
- State Department Student Programs: The State Department offers a variety of undergraduate student programs and opportunities for students to work in Washington, D.C. or in embassies and consulates abroad.
