Carl S. Kirby directs the Marcellus Shale Initiative. He is an environmental aqueous geochemist and Professor of Geology. He has recently published abstracts, supervised student research, and is preparing articles on Marcellus Shale issues. He has given numerous invited presentations and is collaborating with colleagues at the US Geological Survey, University of Pittsburgh, and Binghamton University. He recently presented at a US EPA workshop on hydraulic fracturing.
