Registration forms will NOT be processed without your adviser's signature or your Banner Registration PIN (available ONLY from your adviser).

Registration Times

Students should enter their schedule online or bring their completed Course Registration Form to the Registrar's Office, at the time listed below. Waitlist/Course Adjustments

If a course is not available, you may choose to be placed on the waitlist. You may not register or waitlist for another section of the same course. To place yourself on the waitlist you must first select an alternate course. The registered course will AUTOMATICALLY be dropped if you are placed in your first choice. If you are unsure if you've properly linked your waitlisted and alternate course please check with the Registrar's Office.

All movement into waitlisted courses will be completed prior to the beginning of the semester. Please check your schedule on MyBucknell to see if movement has taken place, notification of schedule changes is not sent. If you do not get moved off the waitlist and do not have a full schedule (at least 4 credits) you will be required to attend Hold Clearance.

**It should be noted, schedules may change after registration due to department requests re: course cancellations, section balancing or added sections. Requested times and faculty cannot be guaranteed. Please check your schedule online to verify courses and sections.**

Auditing

By definition, it is not appropriate to enroll as an auditor for courses involving studio art, applied music, independent study, or thesis preparation, or for any course requiring extra time and attention from the instructor. Note that courses that have been audited may not be taken subsequently for credit. Regularly enrolled, full-time undergraduate students may carry audits in addition to their regular course load without additional charge. For any audit by all other students, the course audit fee is charged ($150 per course).

Study Abroad / Off Campus Study

Currenlty Study Abroad registration must be completed in person. If you have been accepted by an abroad program you should register for OCST 100 or the appropriate off-campus Bucknell courses (France, London, etc.) on the Abroad Registration Form. On your registration form you must have the signatures of both your adviser and International Education. Students going to Bucknell en France should obtain the signatures of their adviser and the french department. If you have not been accepted to an aboard program, you may register for either off-campus courses or on-campus Bucknell courses. If you choose the latter, you must change your registration as soon as you are accepted by your off-campus program.

If your adviser has signed your abroad registration form, you will receive your registration PIN for next semester at your Bucknell email address. PINs will be sent just prior to the on-campus registration period so that you will be able to select courses online. If you will not have internet access while abroad, you must complete a tentative schedule for the semester of your return before you leave campus this semester.

Writing Program

As part of the undergraduate program, a student must successfully complete three writing-emphasis courses. These courses teach subject matter through writing and are designed to develop both subject knowledge and writing ability. In these courses, students learn and communicate their knowledge through writing. Writing-emphasis courses are intended to sustain a student's training in writing across the disciplines and throughout four undergraduate years. Therefore, the best plan is to take them in varied fields and to space them out. For the latest complete listing of writing courses, please go to the Writing Center web site and select "How to look up a course".

Credit By Examination

Full-time undergraduate students in residence may earn undergraduate credit by examination, with a letter grade assigned, in courses approved by a department and by the dean of the college concerned. Credit by examination is not available to graduate students, special students, students who have previously audited or failed the course, students on exchange from other universities, and persons who have never attended Bucknell University. Application for such examinations must be made at specific times on a form available at the Registrar's Office. Approval must be obtained from the department chair and dean of the college concerned. If approval is given, the non-refundable credit by examination fee is to be paid to the Cashier for each examination, and the examination is to be taken at the appointed time.
