Katie Edwards specializes in the history of modern Europe, and particularly of modern France and French empire. Her current research on the public memory of the Indochina War (1946-54) in France brings together her interests in French colonial history and war remembrance. In addition to her work on historical memory, she is interested in the history of immigration to France, and has done work on the arrival of French citizens of 'Indochinese' origin to France after 1956.
