Featurettes
The Bucknell website has five distinct elements: the Bucknell University banner across the top, the navigation options, the body copy, the right hand column, and the general site info across the bottom.
The right hand column is for “featurettes”. The default featurette for this area is “Bucknell in Pictures” a series of campus that rotate randomly when a visitor lands on your page or refreshes the page. These photos have been chosen to give prospective students a glimpse of our campus, and in many cases, they are absolutely appropriate for your page. Sometimes, however, customized content in this featurette area can enhance your page and area.
Complementing Your Page
Featurettes complement page content by providing information and personalization.
- Spotlight related departments
- Advertise upcoming events
- Alert visitors to new programs
- Highlight individual and group successes
- Tell the "story" of your group, building or college by showing your people doing specific things
Placing Featurettes
Web Development has created featurettes for your use that link to Bucknell's academic and administrative departments as well as a variety of events and resource. To access these featurettes, navigate to the “Featurettes” folder in Ingeniux., and then open the “Created for Campus Use” folder. Find an existing featurette that meets your needs and then drag and drop it into the featurette field on the page you are editing. New featurettes must be published before they are visible on the live site, but if you are using an existing featurette, you only need to publish the page itself.
Learn more about featurettes by attending " Ingeniux Advanced: Creating Featurettes" or the special topics class "Featurettes in Context". || More about Adding and Working with Featurettes.
