Renee Cardone M.S.W.

Staff Counselor

Renee Cardone is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who received her Master's Degree in Social Work from the Smith College for Social Work.

Renee employs an integrative approach to counseling that draws from, among others, psychodynamic, systems, developmental, cognitive behavioral, interpersonal, and short-term solution-focused theories and techniques. Consistent with her education and training in social work, she views understanding the "person in environment" (i.e., social cultural, institutional, etc.) as central to her work.

Ms. Cardone joins with students in working toward improved functioning, whether that be academically, in relationships, or with regard to in some other context that is of importance to the student.

In addition to counseling students, Ms. Cardone also coordinates outreach programs for Psychological Services. These programs are available to students and the campus community and aim to educate about healthy coping and prevention of maladaptive responses to stressors.
