Dr. Shallary Simmons-Duncan, Ph.D
Staff Psychologist
Shallary is a Licensed Professional Counselor who received her Ph.D. from Penn State University in Clinical Psychology.
She has over twenty years of college counseling experience. Research supports the development of a therapeutic relationship where compassion, respect, trust, acceptance, and genuineness are considered as a bulwark for progress in counseling. Ascertaining what approach works best for students emerges within the context of understanding the student's concerns and their "life story". Creating hope and self-awareness are fundamental for growth and change. Ultimately, it is our work together that will help you achieve your goals.
In 2005, Shallary initiated efforts which facilitated the development of Bucknell University peer mentor program for first year students from traditionally underrepresented backgrounds. Shallary is the Principal Investigator for the Together Everyone Achieves More (T.E.A.M.) peer mentor program and assessment study.
