LEWISBURG, Pa. — PennEnvironment has partnered with the Bucknell University Environmental Center (BUEC) to present a Citizen Organizer Training event Nov. 17 from 6 to 9 p.m. in Gardner Lecture Hall (Room 113) of the Dana Engineering Building at Bucknell.
PennEnvironment staff will focus on the group's public policy position regarding Marcellus Shale activities to train interested local community members in activism and advocacy.
Participants in this citizen organizer training event will learn from PennEnvironment staff and other organizers in the area how to engage with decision-makers on issues, how to generate media coverage, and how to hold elected officials accountable. After an overview presentation, smaller break-out groups will focus on specific training.
