Class of 2012 senior field trip

Every year in the fall, the Civil & Environmental Engineering senior class is provided a special opportunity for professional development through the Beavers funded field trip.  (Founded in 1955, the Beavers is a social, honorary organization formed, organized and managed by the construction companies and individuals who are or have engaged in heavy engineering construction.)  This trip provides a great opportunity for students to experience, first-hand, the real world of civil engineering and the ongoing projects in this field.  In September of 2011, the class of 2012 went on a three day field trip to Washington, D.C., led by Professor Toole and Professor Oswald.  The trip included visits to constructions sites in the Washington D.C. area that provided students with exposure to various civil and environmental engineering sub-disciplines.

We want to thank Clark Construction, Turner (Tompkins) Construction, Whiting-Turner Contracting Co. and the Dulles Transit Partners for hosting visits to their sites!
