"This magnificent seven bore out the underlying treatise that Martin Hayes operates under...that traditional music is the equal of any other form, and can strike and capture the hearts of music fans anywhere and at any time." Paul Keating, Irish Voice
Martin Hayes is regarded as one of the most extraordinary talents to emerge in the world of Irish traditional music. He won six All-Ireland fiddle championships - before the age of nineteen - and was cited by Ireland's Sunday Tribune as one of the 100 most influential Irish men and women in the fields of entertainment, politics and sports, as well as one of the most important musicians to come out of Ireland in the last 50 years.
As Artistic Director of Masters of Tradition, Martin Hayes brings together seven of the most compelling artists in Irish music today for a unique concert celebrating the art form. With performances of solos, duets, trios, and full group collaborations, the performance gives real insight into the musical journeys that these musicians, and the masterful music they play, have taken over the years.
Masters of Tradition is named for the highly regarded music festival held each August in the Irish coastal town of Bantry, County Cork.
