Construction lumber includes any wood-based materials and products. The wood products are sourced from sustainably managed forests and are processed, manufactured, and sold only by companies that meet the Forest Stewardship Council's™ principles and criteria. This encourages environmentally responsible forest management.
The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) green building certification program is the nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction, and operation of green buildings.
Taking into consideration sustainable sites, water efficiency, energy and atmosphere, materials and resources, indoor environmental quality, and innovation in design, the LEED rating system is designed to measure the efficiency and effectiveness of a building's green features during construction and over its life cycle.
