From the Executive Director

Kathryn MaguetDear Friends,

Welcome to the Weis Center for the Performing Arts - a place for those who seek meaning through moment after moment of shared life-affirming experiences that stretch across time and memory through the arts of sound, movement, spoken word and every combination in between. The Weis Center supports the belief that creativity is a core human characteristic and that the arts hold uniquely transformative potential. For more than 25 years, the Weis Center has played a pivotal role in building and sustaining our thriving community by providing opportunities for learning, creative expression and civic engagement for all.  We continue this season with a great sense of pride and gratitude as we celebrate the arts of the past as well as the arts of our time.

We wholeheartedly embrace the experience of working with people from different backgrounds, with different life experiences and alternative points of view.  Underlying our commitment to diversity is mutual trust, respect and openness to many perspectives.

We value the engaged experience - vital interactions that create meaning and have an impact on the individuals involved.  We approach every interaction with the intention that it be a transformative experience.

Welcome to this season of shared moments and the deep privilege of being together. Through extensive partnerships and through its multiple and integrated roles as classroom and public square, the Weis Center serves as a touchstone for the exploration and expansion of the human experience.  Please visit us often, and lend us your perspective in a spirit of ongoing celebration.

With warmest regards,
